Lighting Up the Season
Since 2006, the RBBA has sponsored an annual Christmas Tree and Menorah lighting to usher in the season of good tidings.
About 150 RB residents, as well as RBBA members and guests, gather each year in Webb Park adjacent to U.S. Bank in early December to hear music of the season of both faiths and sing several Christmas carols. In the past music has been provided by the Mensch Tones of Adat Shalom temple, the Madrigals of RB High, and the Mt. Carmel High School Choir.
An ecumenical invocation is delivered and RB’s elected officials help light the Menorah and Christmas Tree. In past years invocations have been delivered by the spiritual leaders of Congregation Chabad, San Rafael Catholic Church, Green Valley Church and St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church.
A reception is held after the lighting ceremony at U.S. Bank, which is free to RBBA members. $20 for non-members.
